DESCRIPTION

Blaze Robotics STEAM Workshops are designed to provide a creative space where your child can discover and develop their interests in technology. At a Blaze workshop, students explore 3D modeling, 3D printing, robotics, and programming. They progress at their own pace through design, build, and test tasks that gradually increase in difficulty, offering a sense of accomplishment and a demonstration of their growing skills. The project-based learning format combines robotics, coding, and artistic vision, providing a hands-on learning environment that empowers student innovation.

*Students in project-based learning (PBL) classrooms across the United States significantly outperform those in traditional classrooms, according to research from Lucas Education Research and five major universities. Blaze Robotics Academy’s PBL workshops feature guided mini-lessons utilizing the latest software and hardware, equipping students with creative and technical tools for their STEAM journey.

Workshop Highlights:

  • Subject Focus: Depending on each student’s expertise and interests, they may choose to concentrate on specific areas, such as 3D design, modeling, and printing. Projects might include creating airplanes, rockets, or custom problem-solving designs that students model and print themselves. Taking a model from a digital concept to a real-world 3D object is both challenging and fun!

  • Robotics: Students may also choose to design and build robots to solve real-world problems, combining fun with the development of future-ready skills. They will design, build, and test their own robots using VEX Robotics elements while learning block-based or text-based coding. The design possibilities are as limitless as their creativity!

  • Flexible Scheduling: Blaze Workshops provide a flexible schedule to fit your family’s needs. You select the dates and times that work best.

Objectives:

  • Discover and explore different technologies.

  • Learn robotics building and programming techniques, including block-based coding and C++ (text-based coding), depending on each participant’s expertise.

  • Develop skills in 3D design, modeling, and printing, and discover product design.

  • Explore technology tools, including hardware and software (from 3D printers and IDEs to robot brains).

  • Discover mechanical and software engineering.

  • Apply math, science, and technology to fun projects.

  • Develop collaboration, critical thinking, problem-solving, troubleshooting, innovation, and perseverance skills through hands-on learning.
