Blaze STEAM Workshop (Grades 6, 7)
DESCRIPTION
Blaze Robotics STEAM Workshops are designed to provide a creative space for your child to discover and develop their interests in technology. At a Blaze workshop, students have the opportunity to explore 3D modeling, 3D printing, robotics and programming. Students move at their own pace through design, build and test tasks with increasing difficulty which provide a sense of accomplishment and demonstration of growing skills. The project-based learning format consists of an exciting blend of robotics, coding, and artistic vision providing students a hands-on learning environment to empower their innovation.
*Students in project-based learning (PBL) classrooms across the United States significantly outperform students in typical classrooms, according to four studies released by Lucas Education Research, along with researchers from five major universities. Blaze Robotics Academy’s project-based learning workshops feature guided mini-lessons demonstrating and utilizing current software and hardware with the intention of giving students as many tools in their creative and technical arsenal as possible, enabling skill development and discovery throughout their STEAM Journey.
Depending on each student’s level of expertise and interests, they may choose to focus on specific subjects - a student may focus on 3D design, modeling and printing objects such as airplanes, rockets, the Eiffel Tower and custom problem-solving designs they model themselves and print. Not only is taking a model from a digital image to a real-world 3D object challenging and creative, it’s fun!
Students may also choose to design and build robots to solve real-world problems, once again combining fun with the development of future-ready skills. Students will have the opportunity to design, build and test their own robots utilizing VEX Robotics elements while learning block-based or text-based coding. The design options are as endless as their creativity!
Blaze Workshops also provide a flexible schedule for your budding technologist. You select the dates and times that work within your family’s schedule.
What will spark your child’s passion for technology and engineering?
