PROGRAM DETAILS:

Whether you’re new to the world of robotics or looking to take your programming skills to the next level, this program has it all. Students will use the VEX Robotics Kit to build, test and program their own robot, maneuvering it through challenges and obstacle courses. This course will systematically prepare fundamental robotics skills for annual competitions. Students will build their skill set in physics, coding and the engineering design process. No VEX Robotics experience is required for students.

STUDENTS WILL BE:

  • Challenged to think critically and divergently

  • Developing computational thinking

  • Becoming comfortable with iteration

  • Valuing the importance of learning from failure

  • Learning about jobs of the future

  • Mentored and taught by highly qualified professionals

  • Encouraged to develop a growth mindset

  • Exposed to the newest and most advanced technology

  • Gaining confidence and results in the robotics competition

SAMPLE TOPICS IN CLASS:

  • Brainstorm the robot for 2023-2024 VIQC/VRC Game

  • What are Engineering Notebooks and how do we use them

  • Gears and Gear Ratio

  • Drivetrain, Object Manipulators and Lifting Mechanisms

  • Relationship between Speed and Torque

  • Distance Sensors and Rotation Sensors

  • C++ Robotics Programming

  • Autonomous Robot and Driver Control Programs

COURSE FORMAT:

  • Ten Lectures & Ten hands-on Labs

INSTRUCTORS BACKGROUND:

  • VEX IQ & V5 official certified instructors

  • VEX IQ & V5 experienced Coaches, Referees, and Judges

WHY BLAZE?

  • We establish the pathway to students’ Robotics Journey from Zero to Hero. After the class, they can start the Competition Season by joining a competition team once team formation begins.

  • Students will meet potential competition teammates in this class

  • Blaze Robotics is a VEX Official Event Partner that hosts REC Foundation VEX IQ Competitions (VIQC) and VEX V5 Robotics Competitions (VRC)
